Seminar gives businesses last chance to get GDPR compliant

Doncaster Chamber of Commerce is hosting a seminar on May 10 for companies who still have to get to grips with the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) as the deadline looms.

Sarah Power, associate solicitor at hlw Keeble Hawson, will equip businesses with key steps they can take to protect themselves from any legal implications or fines arising from the General Data Protection Regulations (DGPR) which come into force on May 25. Under the terms of GDPR, companies can incur fines of up to €20 million or 4% of annual turnover, whichever is greater, for non-compliance with the rules. Explained Sarah: -The new rules will radically alter the way personal data is stored and used, which for some organisations will mean a major overhaul of their data security policies. -The seminar is aimed at companies who haven't started to look at GDPR, and/or who don't know where to begin to become GDPR compliant.
