Senior surveyor joins Knight Frank

Knight Frank has added to its award winning team in Sheffield with the appointment of a senior surveyor.

Tom Swallow joins the established Yorkshire Agency and Development team, which has offices in Sheffield and Leeds, from BNP Paribas where he worked as a surveyor for the last three and a half years. The 24-year-old, who graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BSc (Hons) in Planning and Development, will work alongside Peter Whiteley, Rebecca Schofield and Ben White from the Sheffield office of the international property consultants. Tom, who grew up in Chesterfield, has experience advising clients from a wide portfolio across South Yorkshire and the East Midlands including working with Network Rail, IBM and Channel 4. He is also a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Matrics team in Sheffield, which organises CPD and social events providing opportunities for young professionals to mix and network within the city. Tom said: "I'm delighted to be joining South Yorkshire's most highly regarded commercial property consultancy and an award winning Yorkshire team, where I'll be working across the industrial, office and development divisions on many exciting projects. I'm looking forward to working with, and learning more from my experienced colleagues." Knight Frank has dominated the office and industrial commercial property sectors in the region taking three awards in 2014. Its industrial and office agency teams won two awards at the Insider Property Industry Awards Yorkshire while the industrial team won the national EGi Deals competition for being the most active in the commercial property sector in Yorkshire in 2014. The industrial team was involved in the disposal of 65 per cent of all industrial properties over 100,000 sq ft transacted in Yorkshire in 2014, letting a total of 2,722,494 sq ft, acquired and sold through 149 transactions. The office agency team was involved in 68% of office deals by floor area in Sheffield in 2014 including the largest office sale in Sheffield of 2014 of 80,000 sq ft at Milton House on Charter Row. Rebecca Schofield said: -We welcome Tom to our team. His skill as a senior surveyor will cover our office agency and industrial divisions and he will be working on a spread of projects across the Sheffield City Region, Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
