SHEFFIELD-BASED MOTOR RACING STAR INVITES BUSINESSES TO UNIQUE EVENT

13th November 2023

Rising British motor racing star and Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity Ambassador, Rowan Campbell-Pilling, is hosting a unique F4 themed event at Burrows Mint Cars.

The event, which will take place on 17 November (5pm – 8pm), is open to businesses across Sheffield, who are invited for an evening filled with canapes, networking and F4, as Rowan Campbell-Pilling celebrates his recent F4 signing.

Rowan, who is still just 16 years old, recently announced that he’d signed with Argenti Motorsport for the 2024 ROKiT British F4 Championship. He is the first driver to announce his spot on the grid.

This is the start of the driver’s move into single-seater racing off the back of a successful karting career where Rowan competed in the Daniel Ricciardo Series and IAME X30 in both the junior and senior classes.

This Friday, he will be bringing his F4 car and an F4 simulator along to Burrows Mint Cars for guests to view and get involved with. The vehicles will sit alongside the venue’s own prestige cars, including the Aston Martin Vantage range, to add to the guest’s experience.

Rowan said: “I’m looking forward to the event this week. It will be a unique opportunity to meet more people from around the city while we celebrate a huge milestone in my motor racing career. Plus, people will be able to have a go in the F4 simulator and learn more about what I get up to in training.”

Steve Burrows, MD, Burrows Motor Company said: “We are delighted to be hosting this business event at our Burrows Mint Cars showroom.  As a supporter of the Children’s Hospital in Sheffield, we are delighted that Rowan has chosen Burrows to support him with this fundraising event.

“It is inspiring to see individuals like Rowan use their initiative to make a positive impact, and we’re excited to contribute to this cause.”

Rowan will be joined at Burrow Mint Cars by friends from The Children’s Hospital Charity, including Tchad Western, the charity’s Chief Fun Officer, and the charity’s mascot Theo.

The following day, 18 November (9.00am – 5.30pm), with the F4 car and simulator in tow, the Children’s Hospital team will also be accompanying Rowan to Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre for a family friendly charity fundraising event.

The racing star, keen to give back to his community, is an ambassador for The Children’s Hospital Charity and has raised £6000 so far. He has done this through a 160ft abseil, a fitness challenge and various karting events.

Rowan hopes these events this weekend will boost awareness and fundraising even further with the aim of raising £10,000 for the charity before the end of his first year as an ambassador.
