Sheffield bookkeeper brings 15 years of finance experience to local businesses

Sheffield-based Rebecca Long introduces RL Bookkeeping Support, providing friendly, straightforward bookkeeping, VAT, Self Assessment and Making Tax Digital support to sole traders and small businesses across the UK.

Sheffield-based bookkeeper Rebecca Long is introducing RL Bookkeeping Support to the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce community after recently committing herself full-time to growing the business.

Rebecca founded RL Bookkeeping Support to provide friendly, reliable and straightforward financial support to sole traders and small businesses. With 14 years of finance and administration experience, she understands how quickly bookkeeping can become overwhelming when business owners are already managing customers and the everyday demands of running a business.

RL Bookkeeping Support provides monthly bookkeeping, VAT returns, Self Assessment tax returns, catch-up bookkeeping, accounting software setup and support with Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. Rebecca also helps businesses improve their financial processes and gain a clearer understanding of their income, expenses and cash flow.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Rebecca tailors her support to each client’s circumstances. She works with businesses at different stages, from new sole traders setting up their first accounting system to established companies that need regular bookkeeping and financial administration.

Rebecca said:

“Many business owners come to me because their bookkeeping has become stressful, they are unsure what HMRC requires or they simply do not have enough time to keep everything up to date.

“My role is to take that pressure away, explain things in plain English and give clients confidence that their financial records are accurate and their deadlines are being managed. I want people to feel comfortable asking questions without worrying that they should already know the answer.”

Rebecca has completed AAT Level 2 in Bookkeeping and is due to take her final AAT Level 3 in Bookkeeping exam next month. She has experience working with a range of accounting platforms, including Xero, Sage 50, FreeAgent, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, FreshBooks and QuickFile. This enables her to work with the systems clients already use or help them choose software suited to their business.

Although based in Sheffield, RL Bookkeeping Support works remotely with clients throughout the UK. Rebecca combines cloud accounting technology with a personal and approachable service, ensuring clients receive regular communication and practical support.

Joining Sheffield Chamber of Commerce gives Rebecca the opportunity to build stronger relationships within the local business community, collaborate with other professionals and help more Sheffield businesses feel in control of their finances.
