Sheffield business leader recognised in regional awards

Jillian Thomas, managing director of Future Life Wealth Management, has been shortlisted for two prestigious award designed to honour the contribution women make to business in the Yorkshire region.

Jillian has been recognised in the Business category at the Yorkshire Women of Achievement Awards, which are set to take place on 20 May and she has also been successfully shortlisted for the Outstanding Contribution to Diversity award at the Yorkshire Women in Business Awards, which are being held next month. Future Life Wealth Management, based in Renishaw, offers a bespoke financial planning service to generators of wealth, typically business owners, executives and professionals and also to receivers of wealth, such as inheritors, divorcees, widows and retirees. The company has grown significantly since it was launched by Jillian at her home in 2009, now employing eight members of staff and helping more than 350 clients. In 2015, Jillian also became only the second woman to take on the role of president of the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, using this role to make positive changes to business within the city and helping to put the Sheffield City Region on the map. Jillian said: -It is an honour to have been shortlisted for both these prestigious award and to be recognised against such fantastic businesswomen from the entire Yorkshire reason. -The award nominations are very much recognition the whole Future Life Wealth Management team, who have helped to make the company the success it is through expertise and commitment. The Yorkshire Women of Achievement Awards, which are this year celebrating their 30th anniversary, will also be raising funds for Sue Ryder, a charity which provides hospice and neurological care for people facing a life-changing diagnosis. Now in their second year, the Yorkshire Women in Business Awards are aimed at senior business women operating in mid to large companies in any sector across Yorkshire. The judges shortlist women who have made a real difference in business over the past twelve months.
