Sheffield Ed-Tech Company Scoops Prestigious International Award

A local digital teaching platform that has helped thousands of children to become more active in schools across the UK, including Yorkshire, has overcome tough competition from leading international EdTech companies to be named winner at the prestigious Betts Awards 2019.

The business started 8 years ago from a home-based office in Sheffield and has now been recognised as a leader in its field. imoves has developed a unique, evidence-based model which focuses on driving whole school improvement through physical activity. The programme delivers everything a Primary School teacher needs to deliver active lessons across the whole curriculum helping children to improve their physical and mental wellbeing, as well as achieving better grades. The Bett Awards, hosted by comedian Marcus Brigstocke, are Europe's largest EdTech awards that celebrate the most outstanding EdTech suppliers in the industry. The prestigious awards dinner took place on Wednesday 23rd January 2019 in London. imoves were amongst tough competition but were crowned overall winners for "Whole School Aid for Learning, Teaching and Assessment". The judging panel consisted of professionals from across the educational sector including Headteachers, Lecturers, Academy Governors, Senior Inspectors and CEO's of many high-profile educational establishments. imoves are on a mission to get every classroom in every UK Primary School active for 30 minutes every day by 2022, inspiring active learning not only in PE lessons but in the classroom and at home, before expanding to the international market. The current Active Schools programme delivers everything a teacher needs to drive more activity throughout the school day leading to better grades, more focussed children and happier, healthier learners. The digital programme features over 1,000 cross-curricular lessons and activities developed by teachers for teachers, to support active learning in every lesson from Active Maths and Active Literacy lessons, Mindfulness, Daily Active Blasts and a full Active PE Curriculum.
