Sheffield Event Reveals Smartphone Generation Driving Changes in Business

3rd November 2015

Younger workers are demanding instant access to information which is driving changes in the workplace, according to Microsoft.

Speaking at an event at Sheffield's Mercure Parkway hotel hosted by Azzure IT earlier this month, representatives from Microsoft explained how their business systems are changing to meet demand from younger workers, who expect to be able to access information instantly. The smartphone generation is so used to having data at its fingertips that business software is being developed to support this way of working, enabling workers to use tablets and phones to access the information they need to do their jobs wherever they are, whenever they want it. Azzure IT's customer open day was attended by 88 delegates representing 35 companies from across the UK. The annual event aims to ensure Azzure IT's customers are kept up to date with the latest developments in business software. In addition to hearing directly from Microsoft, Azzure IT's senior team also explained the changes in their own business and the new products and services they are able to offer customers. A series of workshops were also held looking specifically at Microsoft's business software for finance, distribution and manufacturing. Craig Such, Managing Director at Azzure IT explained: -Our open days are going from strength to strength and becoming an important annual event for our customers. Keeping on top of changes in such a fast paced industry is a challenge for most businesses, but events like this allow people to stay one step ahead by hearing directly from Microsoft about what's coming next. -As a Microsoft Gold Partner, we work closely with the Microsoft team and make sure all our customers get the very best from their investment in business software. Getting so many of our customers together to share their experiences and learn more about how IT is changing to support newer ways of working helps Azzure IT's customers stay one step ahead of their competitors. Jonathon Housely, Finance Director at Bionical added: -This was a great event for introducing new technologies to like-minded businesses like ourselves. It was good to interact with Microsoft and listen to the UK Channel Head of Dynamics present us with the future roadmap for Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Great networking opportunities too. Azzure IT is the UK's leading provider of Microsoft Dynamics NAV software solutions and a Microsoft gold partner. The company was recently named one of the four best providers of Microsoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in the world by Microsoft. The company beat off competition from 2300 tech firms across the globe to be named a finalist in Microsoft's 2015 Partner of the Year Awards.
