Sheffield Hallam University in global top 10 for its impact on reducing inequality

Sheffield Hallam University has been ranked in the top 10 in the world for its impact on reducing inequality in the Times Higher Education 2023 Impact Rankings.
The list, now in its fifth year, is the world’s only one that measures universities’ contributions to the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A record 1,705 universities from 115 countries/regions were assessed and rated on their commitment to sustainability across four areas: research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.
Sheffield Hallam ranked 9th out of 901 institutions across the world for its impact in Reducing Inequality, which is based on research in that area, numbers of students and staff from under-represented groups and our policies and processes.
The University is in the top quarter in nine out of the ten SDG areas it appears in, including the top 100 for SDG 1 No Poverty (rank 33), SDG 3 Good Health and Wellbeing (rank 50) and SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth (rank 68).
Overall, the University was ranked in the top 15 per cent of institutions worldwide.
