Sheffield Institute of Arts prepares for degree show
22nd May 2015
Preparations are underway for Sheffield's biggest student-led exhibition, which will showcase some of the most creative work in art, design, fashion, film and animation the city has to offer.
The Sheffield Institute of Arts (SIA), at Sheffield Hallam University, will bring creativity to the city on Saturday 13 June for the 2015 degree show, held at venues around the city centre. The exhibition includes a catwalk fashion show on Friday 12 June at the Millennium Galleries. With origins dating back to 1843, Sheffield Institute of Arts is at the heart of Sheffield's creative community, and has produced many successful artists. SIA is set to move into the old Head Post Office in Fitzalan Square by the end of 2015, after it is restored and refurbished by its owners. Professor Sally Wade, director of the Sheffield Institute of Arts, said: "This is a great opportunity for everyone to experience some genuinely thought-provoking, creative work by students of nearly 20 different disciplines. "Our degree show is one of the biggest student exhibitions in the North, and always attracts interest from national industry experts."
