Sheffield Law Society names Mason Thomas Law commercial property team of the year

Mason Thomas Law has been named as Sheffield & District Law Society’s Commercial Property Team of the Year 2024.

As well as winning the prestigious title, the Sheffield-based property law specialist was also shortlisted for Niche law Firm of the Year, while director and solicitor Cathy Thomas was a finalist in the Partner of the Year category.

The Commercial Property Team of the year award recognises Mason Thomas Law’s achievements in the field of property law, its dedication to clients and recognition of the work it does by its clients and peers. 

Offering a range of commercial property legal services, including sales, purchases, leases, site property development, option agreements and contracts, and business acquisition, Mason Thomas Law is one of only a handful of firms nationwide to specialise in secured lending. It advises both borrowers and lenders in relation to the security elements of financing property transactions.

The award also recognised Mason Thomas Law’s community contribution through fundraising and volunteering for its nominated charity Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care (SCCCC).

The annual Sheffield & District Law Society Awards are a celebration of Sheffield and its districts brightest and best lawyers, and their achievements over the past year.
A total of 13 winners were announced at a glittering awards ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Royal Victoria Sheffield on Friday 23 February. 

The entire Mason Thomas Law team attended the awards evening. A delighted Cathy said: “The team and I are exceptionally proud to have been recognised as the best commercial property team in Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham. The Sheffield & District Law Society is the professional association for solicitors practising in Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and the surrounding area. Mason Thomas Law has been a member of the society since 2023.
