Sheffield Logistics Firm Donate Blades Box Tickets for Charity

13th February 2015

Sheffield United back-of-shirt sponsor DBL Logistics is giving away tickets to its private box at Bramall Lane to help raise money for charity.

The Sheffield-based haulage company offered two private box tickets for auction at the recent Pride of Isle event which was held in memory of Alexander Strong, who spent his final days at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. Managing director Dave Clarkson came into contact with Maxine Strong, Alexander's mother, when he joined Sheffield United players and staff during their community visit day to the Hospice in December. He said: -That day allowed me to witness first-hand the amazing bravery of the children and families such as Maxine's, so I was inspired to help. -The Pride of Isle event was set up in memory of her son and to celebrate inspirational and heroic people in the community, such as the dedicated and hardworking Bluebell Wood staff. -I hope the donation of our private box at Bramall Lane went some way to raising money for a worthy cause. DBL Logistics also donated a further two box seats to the Laugh and Swing for Autism charity auction, part of an event which raised more than £15,000 in total with the proceeds going towards The National Autistic Society, The Autism Centre Sheffield and Autism Plus Sheffield. The company also continued its support of local charity Roundabout by donating two box seats as prizes for the charity's recent law society dinner. The Jazzytastic fundraising team, who are raising money for the Jasmyn Chan Foundation - a charity set up in memory of the 14-year-old Sheffield school girl who was killed in a hit and run after she pushed her friend to safety - will also benefit from the donation of two private box seats at Bramall Lane as DBL Logistics have donated two tickets for auction at their fundraising event later this month. Dave added: -We are happy to help local causes in any way possible and it gives us a great sense of pride to be able to use our connection with Sheffield United to offer tickets to our private box for the benefit of local charities.
