Sheffield Print Company Evolution Print achieves hattrick of National Accolades

11th June 2013

Sheffield based Evolution Print has been shortlisted for three prestigious national industry awards; The Drum Design Awards, Print, Design and Marketing Awards 2103 for Whitmar publications, and the Antalis Review 2013.

A book called A Bunch of Fives has been nominated in two categories of the Drum Design Awards for best printed item and best self promotion and two categories in the Antalis Review 2013 for best book and creative papers, and the Manchester School of Arts Undergraduate Prospectus, in the Print, Design and Marketing Awards 2103. A Bunch of Fives was a collaborative venture between Evolution Print and tdr. Designed by tdr's Ian Anderson, the book was to celebrate tdr's 25th and Evolution's 5th birthday. It was compiled by asking an address book of friends, associates and customers the question, 'What does five mean to you?'.  All gave their time freely and often unguardedly as they sent through their thoughts. 500 copies were printed and sent to 29 different countries, generating design blogs and favourites of the year all over the world. Well known contributors include; David Bailey, Jarvis Cocker, Kid Acne, Martyn Ware, Ian Anderson.    Manchester School of Art is one of the largest providers of art and design courses in the UK and celebrates its distinguished 175 year history this year. To mark the occasion, and to highlight a recent investment of over £34 million in the School of Art, Ian Anderson, who is a visiting speaker, was asked to design the new Undergraduate Prospectus. The finished article is a tactile and sensory tribute to the beautiful and remarkable effects that only print can produce. 10,000 copies were printed. Graham Congreve evolution Print comments; -This has been a great year for us. To be recognized nationally for these pieces of work is great for Evolution Print and good for Sheffield. Quality print is still in demand despite the growth of online. We are proud of what we do and treat every project for clients large or small with the same customer care and service; whether a simple short run requirement, a complex printed design or a large-scale multi layered project. Fingers crossed for the next round of posh dos!
