Sheffield Theatres search for new Chair for the Board of trustees

Sheffield Theatres is seeking to appoint a new Chair to its Board of Trustees.

The successful candidate will take up their role in December 2015 and will help lead the Trustees and work with the Chief Executive, Artistic Director and the senior team to help shape the future of the organisation. The largest theatre complex outside of London, Sheffield Theatres comprises the iconic Crucible, the Studio and the Victorian splendour of the Lyceum. It produces and presents a diverse programme of work, including classic and contemporary drama, musicals, comedy, opera and dance on each of its stages. Neil Adleman, current Chair of the Board, reaches the end of his term of office in December this year. During his time as Chair, the company has been awarded Regional Theatre of the Year for two consecutive years (2013 & 2014), created and toured a raft of productions, including This Is My Family and Anything Goes and refurbished the Lyceum Theatre in a £1.9m project. The Sheffield Theatres Trust Board is currently 13 people strong providing a range of expertise including fundraising, education, financial, legal, artistic and communications. The successful applicant will lead on the development of Sheffield Theatres' strategic direction, be a powerful advocate for the company and its work and will ensure the organisation functions within legal, financial and charitable requirements. They will have experience of organisational governance, excellent leadership skills, strong communication skills and a good understanding of local, regional and cultural agendas.
