Sheffield Wednesday FC community Programme Launch Drive To Cook Up A Festive Storm For 500 Deserving Locals With The Help of Chamber Members

20th November 2024

Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme’s deputy head of community Ben Winter and his team have set themselves one of their biggest challenges of 2024.

Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme’s deputy head of community Ben Winter and his team have set themselves one of their biggest challenges of 2024, as they aim to bring some festive cheer, food and maybe a visit from a very special guest to 500 local residents for whom sadly, Christmas is often just another day.

All the guests will be nominated by local charities working  with people with mental health issues, the  homeless, those in poverty, the isolated and elderly, refugees etc. Those truly deserving of a memorable and fun afternoon

Ben and a team of committed volunteers will be providing both individuals and families with a traditional two course Christmas lunch, refreshments and entertainment on December 17th.

However, they can’t do this without the support of fellow chamber members and the wider business community.

They are looking for a committed local business to become primary sponsor for the event, but anyone who wants to contribute would be a welcome partner.

However, even if you can’t support financially, your organization can still help by sponsoring ‘in kind’….

So for example, if you work within food and beverage or hospitality sector and are able to supply a turkey or two or a few joints of meat, a sack or two of vegetables, maybe a tray of desserts or Christmas puds, that would be amazing.

If you have spare boxes of decorations or crackers or items that can be used as prizes or gifts for guest, that would be fantastic, and of course every supporter will be recognised for their efforts.

If you would like to know how you can play a part in making someone’s Christmas just that little bit special, please contact Ben Winter on 0370 020 1867 or via email (ben.winter@swfc.co.uk)
