Shorts renew Chamber patronage for third year

19th December 2018

Tom Sutton, Head of Corporate Partnerships and Memberships at the Chamber said -The Sheffield Chamber of Commerce are really pleased that we are continuing our partnership with Shorts in 2019, as we enter their 3rd year of Patronage.

Over the past year it's been great to see that Shorts have witnessed increased growth in their business, which includes an acquisition of another accountancy firm. We've been working closely with Shorts not only to raise awareness of Research & Development Tax Relief scheme, but also support members with claims. Through the expertise of the Radius Team within Shorts the claim process has been simple and straightforward for the companies we've supported. As we move in 2019 we'll also be working on the changes to the taxation system with Shorts. Having already hosted one successful and well received Making Tax Digital seminar we will be hosting others at the Chamber. It is important that businesses are aware of these changes and making the necessary adjustments to remain compliant. Again we have the expertise within Shorts to help guide our members through this process. This is a partnership we look forward to developing and growing in the New Year! Scott Burkinshaw, Tax Partner added: -We are delighted to renew our patronage of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce into a third year.  We've developed an excellent working relationship and both of our organisations are focussed on offering wide ranging and valuable support for businesses in Sheffield.  Our ongoing patronage aligns perfectly with these shared objectives." -Shorts have invested heavily in the region over recent years, having moved into larger premises in the City in 2014 and subsequently recruited over 40 additional staff.  We are keen to actively support businesses in Sheffield to flourish and feel that a strong Chamber of Commerce helps enormously in this regard. Most recently, our collaboration has centred around; making sure that the region's innovative companies claim their full entitlement to government backed R&D tax reliefs, and preparing businesses for Making Tax Digital; helping businesses see the opportunities that are available to them to improve both profitability and efficiency. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the team at The Chamber in 2019.
