South Yorkshire law firm backs SCCCC for year long support

11th February 2022

Older people across Sheffield are set to benefit after Wosskow Brown Solicitors name SCCCC as its charity of the year.

Wosskow Brown Solicitors says it hopes to raise thousands of pounds for Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care (SCCCC) in 2022, with staff pledging to raise vital cash through everything from dress down days to bake sales.

Every penny raised through the partnership will go towards supporting the charity’s work to help isolated, older people across Sheffield.

The firm’s staff will also be encouraged to give up their free time to volunteer for SCCCC, including supporting loneliness busting initiatives like its Good Neighbours Scheme.

Ian Brown, Managing Partner at Wosskow Brown, said: “Older people have had it particularly tough in the last couple of years, with long months of lockdown exacerbating an already growing problem of isolation and loneliness. Here at Wosskow Brown we’ve been really inspired by SCCCC’s relentless commitment to helping to address these issues, so our staff were only too happy to name it as our charity of the year for the coming year.”

Ericka Hill, Fundraiser at SCCCC, said: “The support of corporate partners like Wosskow Brown plays such an important role in extending the reach of our work, meaning we can help even more isolated, older people right here in Sheffield.”
