South Yorkshire Sport, on behalf of the South Yorkshire School Games Local Organising Committee, invites you to join us for the Guest Reception at our Summer Finals Event on Wednesday 3rd July 2013 as part of the Sainsbury's School Games in South Yorkshire The South Yorkshire School Games is part of the wider Sainsbury's School Games National Programme funded by Sport England, working to engage all children and young people in school years 3-13 in high quality, inclusive school sport competition.

The finals events at South Yorkshire level are the culmination of a range of local competitions within and between schools in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. The Games also has a strong cultural feel with live performances and exhibitions from some of our cultural partners across South Yorkshire. This year's summer finals events will feature 90 teams from schools and colleges across South Yorkshire, competing in 10 competitions across 5 sports. These 816 participants from both primary and secondary schools will be competing for a total of 258 medals. The Sainsbury's School Games in South Yorkshire will also be supported by 70 volunteers from across the county. Our guests will have the opportunity to hear about the achievements of the South Yorkshire School Games so far and meet some of our young sports ambassadors. After lunch, guests will be shown around the Games venues to take in some of the competitive sport action and range of cultural activities on offer.
