Speakers steal the show at city business exhibition

15th December 2015

Sheffield business and industry ambassador Richard Caborn was among the star speakers at the Sheffield City Region's biggest networking trade show.

Workshops, taster sessions and exhibitions were on offer at SheffEX, held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, where Mr Caborn joined Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Richard Wright, in delivering speeches to the delegates and exhibitors. Speaking at the Future of Sheffield Business Conference, a new conference run as part of the fourth bi-annual SheffEX, former sports minister Mr Caborn outlined prospects for business in 2016 from devolution to development, while Mr Wright highlighted the challenges that upcoming opportunities will create. SheffEX, which takes place twice a year, is the region's biggest business to business trade show. More than 100 exhibitors and trade stands were on show, and it was attended by hundreds of delegates. The December 2015 event also featured a new 'More Business Better Business Conference' an afternoon of inspiring talks from leading experts who gave businesses fresh ideas on how to improve productivity and profits. SheffEX founder Tony Carroll said: -This was one of the best SheffEX events we've seen in terms of the quality of networking and deals made. -We recognised the importance of supporting Sheffield City Region business by expanding the event this time round with workshops, taster sessions and exhibitions. -Hopefully, this will set a precedent for future events. The high-profile nature of the speakers, such as Richard Caborn, will continue to put SheffEX well and truly on the regional business calendar. For more information on SheffEX visit www.sheffex.com.
