Special Olympics GB National Games Flag Flies Proudly Over Sheffield United

Special Olympics GB is thrilled to see its National Games flag (attached) flying over Sheffield United's Stadium less than 11 months until this showpiece event held once every four years - for 2,600 athletes with learning disabilities from across England, Scotland and Wales.

It will be the largest disability sports event of 2017. The Bramall Lane Stadium will host the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday 8th August 2017. Dave McCarthy, Operations Director at Sheffield United, said: -We are thrilled the Special Olympics GB National Games are coming to Sheffield in less than a year in August 2017. We are honoured to be hosting the Opening Ceremony at Bramall Lane and can't wait to provide this platform to show the ability of athletes with learning disability. We are proud to fly the Special Olympics flag for them.
