Steel City Stadium opens the doors to new business lounge and performance café
2nd July 2025
Steel City Stadium unveils new coworking lounge and performance nutrition café at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, creating a vibrant hub for founders, innovators and teams in health, sport and wellbeing.
A new kind of workspace has arrived at Steel City Stadium, Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, and it’s designed for people shaping the future of health, sport and wellbeing.
Scarborough Group International (SGI), the development partner behind the expansion of Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, has opened a brand-new coworking lounge and performance-nutrition café on the ground floor of its flagship building - creating a dedicated space where founders, scale-ups, corporate teams and innovators can work, meet and refuel.
Opened on Monday 30 June 2025, the launch marks a major milestone in Steel City Stadium’s evolution from professional and community sports venue to thriving centre of enterprise, health and innovation.
To date, SGI has invested over £10 million in delivering the Steel City Stadium and a further £500,000 in the development of the new coworking lounge and café. This significant level of investment reinforces the Group’s long-term commitment to the Park and to the city of Sheffield, cementing its role in driving forward innovation, collaboration and economic growth.
More than just desks
The newly-opened coworking lounge offers a flexible, well-connected alternative to the usual office. With hot desks, breakout spaces and private booths, plus a packed calendar of events, drop-ins and workshops, it’s designed to be as dynamic as the people who use it.
Powered by a partnership with Sheffield Technology Parks, members also get access to hands-on business support, funding guidance and meaningful connections, particularly valuable for early-stage founders and growing teams looking to tap into the region’s burgeoning health, sport and wellbeing innovation ecosystem.
“This launch is a major step forward in our long-term vision for the Park,” said Ian Sanderson, Estates and Development Consultant at SGI. “By opening up the ground floor of the Stadium, we’re creating far more than just workspace, we’re building a connected, collaborative environment where people can meet, share ideas and spark new partnerships. It’s about supporting innovation, community and economic growth all in one place.”
Fuel for focus
The new café, operated by Sheffield-based Food Fusion, brings a fresh take on healthy eating. Known for their performance-focused approach to food, the team is serving up breakfasts, lunches and snacks designed to support energy, recovery and wellbeing, whether you’ve come from the gym, the pitch or your laptop.
The café is open to everyone, from local residents and visitors to students, researchers and nearby businesses, with preferential rates available for Stadium Workspace members.
