Stress and Management Standards Course

7th November 2012

"Given the choice, would you prefer to have a workforce that is coping with stress, or one that is resilient in the face of difficult conditions? The choice is the same, but the thoughts and emotions that the words 'stress' and 'resilience' conjure up are poles apart.

Around 10.8 million working days are lost annually to work-related stress and employers have a legal duty of  care to ensure that sources of stress are managed effectively.  How many millions of working days were delivered due to the good leadership behaviours of managers who helped staff to perform to the best of their ability? This course takes a resilience-focused approach to understanding how leadership behaviour directly impacts staff wellbeing and explores the areas that employers must actively monitor in order to maintain a happy, healthy and productive workforce.  Unlike any other 'standard' stress management training, during this Canopy course delegates are invited to experience the real-time effects of stress and to try out various techniques for challenging unproductive thoughts, feelings and behaviours."
