Summer Family Fun Day Set to Bring Entertainment, Football and Community Spirit to Sheffield

Families are invited to a Dragonfly Cancer Trust Summer Family Fun Day on Sat 4 July, 1at Kenwood Hall, Sheffield. Enjoy live entertainment, games, food, stalls and activities while raising funds for children and families affected by life-limiting cancer.

Families across Sheffield are invited to enjoy a fun-filled day of entertainment, activities and fundraising at the Dragonfly Cancer Trust Summer Family Fun Day, taking place on Saturday 4th July, 11am–4pm, at Kenwood Hall Hotel, Sheffield.

Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children, with all proceeds going directly to Dragonfly Cancer Trust to support its work with children, young people and families affected by life-limiting cancer.

The event promises something for everyone, with a packed programme of live entertainment, interactive games, food and drink, stalls, and outdoor activities set within the beautiful grounds of Kenwood Hall.

Visitors can look forward to a variety of attractions throughout the day, including a woodland trail, raffle, tombola, and a range of stalls offering shopping and local goods. A bar and food will also be available on-site, making it a full family day out.

One of the highlights of the event will be the “Beat the Goalie” football challenge, delivered in partnership with Sheffield United Community Foundation. Participants will have the chance to test their skills against goalkeeper Elaha, who plays for the Afghanistan Women’s National Team and Doncaster Belles, and has kindly volunteered her time to support the charity.

Elaha said:

"My name is Elaha and I am a goalkeeper for the Afghanistan Women’s National Team and Doncaster Belles.

I am really happy to be supporting Dragonfly Cancer Trust at their Summer Fun Day by taking part in the Beat the Goalie challenge. Football has given me so many opportunities and I love using it to help others.

I’m looking forward to meeting families, having fun and helping raise money for such an important cause. The work Dragonfly Cancer Trust does for young people and their families is truly inspiring and I am proud to be part of the event."

Entertainment on the day will include live music from singer Amy Jean, whose passion for connecting with audiences through music is expected to bring a lively and uplifting atmosphere to the event.

Amy Jean said:

"My name is Amy Jean, I'm 29, and I live in Nottinghamshire. Singing is my passion, I love connecting with people especially at my gigs where music really does bring everyone together."

Families will also be entertained by Stanley’s Entertainment, with Craig bringing his popular mix of family-friendly magic, games, dancing and comedy designed to keep both children and adults entertained throughout the afternoon.

Adding further fun, The Village Green will kindly be supporting the event by supplying a range of traditional garden games including Coconut Shy, Hoop Toss and Giant Jenga, giving visitors even more to enjoy across the day.

The Summer Family Fun Day is open to all, with families encouraged to come along and enjoy a full day of entertainment, activities and community spirit in support of a meaningful cause.
