Survey on the new immigration system – have your say:

14th May 2021

Fragomen is helping RAMP (The Refugee, Asylum and Migration Policy) to respond to The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) who have asked them to conduct an investigative inquiry into the new immigration system.

The Chair of the APPG (David Simmonds MP) and other MP officers have asked RAMP, (who provide the secretariat service for the APPG), to carry out the inquiry.

Aim:

The aim of the inquiry would be to collect feedback from employers, trade bodies and academics, about the positive and negative impacts of the new rules on your business, employees and the wider economy and community, and how you are responding and adapting. RAMP are gathering this evidence through an online survey which we helped to put together.

The ask:

The survey is now launched and the responses are coming in. RAMP would love to hear about the impact in the regions of the new immigration system and present your views to the APPG. Key impacts may be, for example, how easy or difficult you find it to hire Europeans for the first time who don’t already live in the UK; how you find using the new immigration system – in terms of applying for a Sponsor licence and then a Certificate of Sponsorship for your new hire; has the new immigration system affected your ability to hire the talent you need?

The outcome:

We will help RAMP to put together a report, once the surveys responses have been collated.  The aim is to launch the report in Parliament and proactively share it in the media and directly with a range of interested parliamentarians and then use this report to allow parliamentarians and businesses who input to engage constructively with the Home Office to ensure that they are fully aware of any unintended consequences and are in the best position possible to be able to respond.

We look forward to hearing from you – if you prefer, we can also have a private, free consultation to discuss how the new immigration system may be affecting your business.  Please get in touch at Sheffieldinfo@fragomen.com
