Swing into 2017 with golf fitness

23rd January 2017

Women and men across South Yorkshire are being encouraged to try out a new golf programme to help improve their fitness, skills and general well-being.

SIV has launched the Golf Fitness programme, a six-week golf fitness scheme at Beauchief golf course, aimed at people of all abilities. The programme will be tailor made to each participant's needs and goals ensuring tuition at the right pace and progression. The sessions are ideal for anyone, whether a returning golfer to someone who has experienced an injury who wants to get back into fitness. Delivered in partnership with Beauchief golf pro Wayne Yellott and Jo Mist from sports rehabilitation specialists Fitness Solutions, the sessions are guaranteed to improve flexibility and technique. SIV's expert coaches will work with people to assess their level when they start the programme and after six weeks of tuition coaches will measure their improvement. Tom Booth assistant golf manager at SIV, said: -The golf fitness programme is an alternative and tailor made way for people to improve their fitness at their own pace. We pride ourselves in working closely with each individual to monitor and improve their fitness over the six weeks with us. -It's a great alternative to going to the gym or running as it is low-impact but improves the overall fitness of the body. We encourage anyone who is interested to come along and give it a go! Priced at £99 for 'Golfit' members and £109 for non-members, each session lasts for 45 minutes and will take place every Monday, from 23 January to 27 February. Light refreshments will be provided at each session as well as a celebration buffet at an awards presentation at the end of the course.
