Swinton Business is excited to announce the launch of its Cyber Insurance offering.

Cyber Insurance is essential for many SMEs, to assist in protecting businesses and provide cover for lost profits, in the event of a breach. It is estimated that fraud and cyber offenses make up 47.3 per cent of all crime according to the Crime Survey of England and Wales conducted by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).* As part of Swinton's policies, SMEs hit by a cyber-related attack will have access to specialist round the clock support in the days following the incident. Swinton is offering cyber cover underwritten by HSB Engineering Insurance and Fusion and is offering a minimum level cover of £100k. A recent study commissioned by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, illustrates the scale of the cyber threat facing UK businesses. Almost half (45 per cent) of small businesses have identified a cyber-security breach in the last 12 months, while two-thirds (66 per cent) of medium and large business said they had also detected a breach.** Tony Monnington, head of Swinton Business, said: -This year's cyber-attacks suffered by parliament and the NHS also affected businesses of all sizes and highlighted the fact that many firms are still exposed to these sorts of cyber related crimes. The risk to SMEs in particular is likely to increase as more small firms start to trade online, hold information about their customers and connect to wider online networks. -In addition to bolstering their frontline cyber security measures, businesses should also consider what type of provisions they have in place to enable them to resume trading after an attack. We want to support and protect our customers by offering products designed to provide financial compensation and practical support to help firms quickly get back on track. If your business depends on technology, data security and the internet in order to trade you should be taking preventative measures against cyber-attacks.
