Taylor Emmet announces charity partnership with St Luke’s Hospice
29th June 2023
Leading Sheffield City Region law firm Taylor Emmet has named St Luke’s Hospice as its latest charity partner for 2023-24.
As part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to give back to the local community, St Luke’s was selected as the new charity partner as a result of an internal staff vote across their offices in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.
St Luke’s will now join three other partner charities which Taylor Emmet has chosen to support over the next 12 months, with all money raised split equally between Children’s Hospital Charity, Support Dogs and the Birth Trauma Association as well as St Luke’s.
St Luke’s offer care for people aged 18 and above throughout Sheffield who have terminal illnesses, aiming to control their symptoms, alleviate pain and give them the best possible quality of life free of charge.
Taylor Emmet has raised over £17,000 over the past year for its previous chosen charities, hosting a number of fundraisers specifically for each charity such as a ‘Dog and Doughnut’ day at the firm’s office, a charity skydive and sponsoring a snowflake outside Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Steve Hinshelwood, CEO at Taylor Emmet, said:
“We are excited and proud to name St Luke’s Hospice as our new charity partner. St Luke’s do exceptional work across Sheffield for those with terminal illnesses and we are always eager to show our support for the causes that matter to our colleagues and clients.
“With community as one of our core values, I’d like to say thank you to all our staff who have engaged in the process of choosing St Luke’s Hospice as our new charity partner and putting our values into practice. I’m looking forward to seeing all the hard work they will be putting in to raise money for this great charity over the year.”
St Luke’s Senior Fundraising Manager Matthew Sheridan said:
“We are delighted that the Taylor Emmet team voted for St Luke’s as their charity partner and that they recognise the work we are doing for patients and families across the city.
“We need to raise more than £7.5 million annually to continue providing that excellent level of service so the support of Taylor Emmet over the next 12 months is going to prove invaluable in reaching that goal.”
