The Blades Event of the Year Celebrating 125 Years

The Blades have lined-up a night to remember to celebrate their 125th birthday.

Set to be the hottest ticket in town, a special party, dinner and show will see great Sheffield United players from most eras, former managers, the current playing squad and management team plus special guests making surprise appearances. On the night and before the event supporters will have the opportunity to vote in some of award categories. The event will reveal: The greatest Blades players of all time there will be a countdown from 20 to 1 on the night which is expected to include for the first time in 30 years the reunion of legends such as Alan Woodward, Tony Currie and Eddie Colquhoun synonymous with the Blades anthem -We ain't got a barrel of money The greatest Blades manager a number of former bosses are lined-up to appear The greatest Blades team of all time the choice will be from four classic United line-ups The greatest Blades fan ever There will also be a number of special awards at the event, to be hosted by the BBC's Harry Gration and Sky's Charlie Webster, which will be held on Saturday 27th September at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre before an audience of hundreds. The date coincides with that of the Club's first ever home game in 1889. Sheffield United Managing Director Mal Brannigan said: -This will be a unique occasion to celebrate 125 years of Sheffield United. Fans will be able to meet former players and managers as well as Nigel Clough, his management team plus the current squad. -It will be unmissable, we are expecting to sell-out. There will be surprise special appearances from some of our celebrity fans, a fantastic dinner and top entertainment. -A unique feature will be that fans at the event on the night will be able to help decide the winners of some of the award categories by an inter-active voting system, Added Mal.
