The Quarterly Economic Survey is Now Open

20th May 2019

The fieldwork for the Sheffield Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) for Q2 2019 begins today and will run until 10th June.

Your say is essential to help Sheffield Chamber of Commerce provide a regional representation of business confidence, and to aid chambers across the UK shape crucial policy discussions locally, regionally and nationally. Forming part of British Chambers of Commerce's national survey, the QES is the largest and longest-running business survey in the UK and is a powerful tool for representing the voice of business to Government. It provides key information, such as local business activity, confidence and issues, which policy makers and government use to inform their decisions. At the national level, it's a leading indicator often picking up big changes in the economy long before other surveys or official statistics: The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee uses the QES as one of its key benchmarks when setting interest rates. HM Treasury and the independent Office for Budget Responsibility use the QES to put together their forecasts for the UK's economic performance. The European Commission uses the QES to assess the health of the UK economy The survey, which only takes three minutes to complete, can be taken by CEOs or senior managers to do a quick sense check on how their business is faring in terms of recruitment, sales, profits, turnover, entering new markets and other key business issues. Please take two minutes to complete the short survey via  www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/QES_Q2
