The SEO Works represent Sheffield on the global stage

20th June 2023

Sheffield-based digital marketing agency The SEO Works are flying the flag for the city on the global stage after being named ‘Integrated Search Agency of the Year’, at the Global Agency Awards last week.

The awards aim to recognise the top agencies and campaigns in the world across a variety of categories and disciplines. Among the most prestigious are the Agency of the Year awards, as they aim to reward agencies as a whole, rather than for individual campaigns. Despite fierce competition from agencies around the world, The SEO Works came out on top and were awarded ‘Integrated Search Agency of the Year’.

Presenting the award from Colorado, USA, the judges remarked that they were particularly pleased with their positive working culture, commitment to mental health, sustained growth and client satisfaction levels.

This recognition comes just a week after The SEO Works was named in Prolific North’s ‘Top 50 Digital Agencies’, making the Top 20 and scoring the highest place of any agency in the city.

Being founded in the city over 15 years ago the agency has remained loyal to its roots, maintaining its Headquarters and the majority of operations in the city ever since - and with no plans for that to change. Chief Executive Officer, Ben Foster, said:

‘Sheffield is an important place to us - it’s where it all began, and it’s a city we believe very strongly in. The digital industry here is thriving, and it’s fantastic to represent that on a stage like the Global Agency Awards. With so many talented digital marketers, and a huge number of exciting businesses, it’s a great time to be in the digital space in Sheffield. This international award means a great deal to us, but I also know it’s well-earned by the team and the first of many!’

As well as being the most awarded, the agency is also one of the largest digital marketing employers in the city - with a team of 90 people (and rising). Working with apprenticeship providers, the city’s universities, and more, they pride themselves on developing people’s digital careers - whatever their experience is. Managing Director, James Corry, said:

‘For us, being such a large employer of digital professionals in the city is a responsibility we don’t take lightly. Whether it’s our Apprenticeship Academy, our internal training programme, or our outreach work within the city - we want people to fall in love with digital marketing and gain rewarding careers in the sector. Throughout our SEO, PPC, Digital PR and Web teams, we have people of a variety of ages and skill sets, and I think it’s this diversity that creates such a healthy culture and helps us produce such fantastic results!’

With new clients, more awards coming up, and plans to keep expanding - the second half of the year is set to be an exciting one for The SEO Works, and the digital sector in Sheffield more generally.
