The SEO Works unveil new website for Core Climbing

12th April 2023

Leading provider of climbing holds and mats, Core Climbing, have unveiled a brand new website - designed and developed by the award-winning Web team at The SEO Works.

Formed in 2008, in the climbing-hub city of Sheffield, Core Climbing have grown substantially - and for a long time, their website aided this.

However, over time they became conscious that it was no longer in line with their growth plans and had even become to inhibit them. Built on a very specific proprietary system, they started reaching functionality limitations and the look of it became dated.

In order to fulfil their ambitious business objectives, including new product launches, they needed a platform that was flexible and gave them an element of control. Also, despite good brand awareness, the site didn’t do their brand justice - they wanted something that was eye-catching. This is where The SEO Works came in.

One of the main reasons for appointing The SEO Works was the technical credibility - with a brilliant array of ideas, and ambitious plans, Core Climbing needed a team that could implement what they needed. Not only that but, with SEO on their mind, the multi-service abilities of the Sheffield-based agency impressed greatly - knowing that the new site would be SEO-friendly.

Stephen Royle, Director of Core Climbing, said - “after our first meeting with The SEO Works team I was confident they really understood our requirements.  The initial designs were strong, thoughtful and on point.  The combination of Wordpress and WooCommerce works really nicely and is going to enable us to drive growth in both B2B and B2C .  The SEO Works have been a pleasure to work with all the way through the process.  It's been great to tap into their expertise and I couldn't be happier with the final product."

The resulting site ticked all of the boxes for Core Climbing. The feature-rich eCommerce site was built using WooCommerce and incorporates an engaging product catalogue, trade customer functionality, new blog function, bigger and better imagery, better mobile compatibility, and more - SEO Works’ web team have demonstrated their full array of skill sets fantastically.

“On this project, we followed our tailored design and build process - absolutely everything bespoke, nothing templated, and all in line with SEO and eCommerce best practices. The design team did an amazing job of creating something that will help Core stand out in the sector, whilst our development team made this a reality. This website is a brilliant example of how you can be bold, whilst also ticking all of the necessary technical boxes, and it was a privilege to work with such an ambitious, helpful and (of course) Sheffield-based, business” said Graham Jones, Head of Web.

The SEO Works specialises in SEO, PPC, Digital PR, Web and Paid Social advertising and has many clients within the Sports & Outdoors sector including Decathlon, Rideminded and GolfSupport.
