The White House Physiotherapist Clinic Gives Local Sheffield Business a Health Kick

29th January 2014

As part of their expanding Business Affiliation Scheme, Sheffield physiotherapists at The White House Clinic paid a visit to Ignition Search, a successful internet marketing company, to offer them a revelatory health kick! On two consecutive Fridays Steve Canning and Katie Bell paid visits to Ignition's offices in Kelham Island to carry out ergonomic assessments, give massages and take a session of Pilates.

The sessions were a great help to the team at Ignition who were surprised by how much difference a few small changes could make. Ed Baxter, Search Manager at Ignition said, -I've been quietly longing for an ergonomic chair ever since I first started working here, but I know they're really expensive so I've never really thought to ask for one. I was delighted then, when Steve made it very clear that all our chairs were -ergonomic enough, we just hadn't been using all the settings properly. Steve carried out a full assessment which took about twenty minutes, adjusting my screens, chair and asking me about my day-to-day working habits. I could immediately feel the benefit after he'd made a few tiny tweaks to my desk set-up and have continued to benefit ever since. I'm honestly shocked by how much impact a few small changes can have I'd recommend an assessment to anyone who sits at a desk for most of their working day. As well as ergonomic assessments Steve and Katie also gave massages to those employees who had particular pains and offered some free physio advice. Ben Goulder, PPC manager and social media guru comments, -I was really looking forward to getting a massage, and it didn't disappoint. I actually had two in the end. For Catherine Dickinson, copywriter and content strategist, it was the Pilates that really stood out. -I have tried yoga before but never Pilates. I have a bit of a bad back and have been told plenty of times that I should try it, but it's just one of those things I've never got round to. I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. At first I was a bit unsure, but after a few minutes I really started to get into it, and afterwards I felt so much better. I can't wait for our next session! Steve and Katie spent about three hours each session at the Ignition Search offices and employees were able to carry on with their work when they weren't receiving treatment. The Pilates session lasted for approximately twenty minutes. After the success of these initial sessions, Ignition have requested regular Pilates classes and should have their next session very soon!
