The Workplace Discrimination Master Class

25th August 2015

Employment law experts at Sheffield's Taylor&Emmet LLP are equipping local businesses with the tools to tackle equality and diversity.

The specialist solicitors are inviting employers to a free discrimination master class that will address the hard issues and demonstrate how to manage conflicting rights in the workplace. This interactive seminar will be held on September 17 at the Crucible in Sheffield and will use case studies and real life examples to recap on the equality and diversity fundamentals. It will also discuss future legislation and explore difficult topics at the frontiers of discrimination law, such as what really amounts to a disability and the government's proposals on gender pay gap reporting. David Poddington, Taylor&Emmet's head of employment law, said: -Balancing the rights of religion, sexual orientation and disability in the workplace is becoming ever more complex. In fact, most people managers now live in fear of the word 'banter' and at what point it becomes unlawful harassment. Our training will give delegates a solid understanding of the discrimination regulations and insight into how we expect current issues to develop, enabling them to address problems raised by employees without placing the business at risk. Taylor&Emmet's experienced employment law team will deliver the training and answer questions from the audience. Delegates will also have an opportunity to network before the seminar closes. It will run from 8am to 10am in the Crucible's Adelphi Room and includes a continental breakfast.
