TwinklHive invests in Photocert, a platform that verifies images and videos while automating visual inspection processes

10th December 2021

TwinklHive business accelerator, created by Twinkl Educational Publishing, announces their investment in Photocert, a tech business that automates inspection processes, combining image authentication with best-in-class technologies like AI and OCR.

In 2015, Pasquale Saviano came to visit London. Once he’d arrived, he noticed that the photos he had seen of the hotel room had been stretched and modified. He realised just how easy it was to manipulate images.

Pasquale, Founder and CEO of Photocert, said “Misinformation and advances in technology have made the ability to create fake photos and videos easier than ever. This can lead to wrong results and increase the opportunity for fraud. Therefore, we came up with a solution.”

The AI and photo verification technology behind the platform ensures that the images received are authentic. These are paired with advanced technologies, like AI and augmented reality, to extract as much valuable information to automate the underlying processes.

Photocert has built a product that can easily be adjusted to clients' needs and can be applied in many markets, such as logistics, online press, e-commerce, art, among others. Photocert is currently targeting the insurance sector helping to prevent fraud and improving visual inspection processes in the property and casualty segments.

TwinklHive business accelerator was founded at the end of 2019, with a mission to enable founders to grow companies with impact. Since it began, TwinklHive has invested in 20 businesses.

David Angrave, Chief Operating Officer at Twinkl and Investment Director of TwinklHive, said “We are delighted to invest in Photocert. They provide trustworthy technology that can help prevent fraud. The team's determination to improve trust in the insurance sector is impressive, and I look forward to supporting them over the coming months.”

The investment from TwinklHive will help Photocert to expand their insurance product portfolio, enhance AI & computer vision capabilities, and accelerate its growth.
