Taking place on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th July headliners include Sheffield-bred and Mercury music nominated Richard Hawley and legendary live performers the Levellers. Event organisers Carly Whitfield and Gemma Cook of the family-run company are ecstatic to be promoting Hawley in his only show planned for this summer and following his string of recent successes. 2012 saw the release of Standing at The Sky's Edge, his hugely acclaimed and highest charting album-to-date. Shortlisted as 'An Album Of The Year' at the prestigious Mercury Music Prize and topping a ream of Best Album polls including a BRIT Award nomination. Kicking off the series on Friday 12th July, renowned live performers, Levellers will be taking to the stage to showcase their impressive back catalogue of recorded music; the band sold more platinum, gold and silver albums in the 1990's than any other act. With over 25 years in the business, the band promise visitors a legendary, Leveller's performance. Local eleven-piece -genre-busting party band Bison will be supporting the Levellers in their Friday performance and organiser's promise a few exciting additions throughout the evening to add to the circus-themed merriment! Event organiser Carly Whitfield said -Sheffield already has a great reputation for live music but we wanted to create an event that had an appeal for a more mature live music audience. Our aim is provide all the benefits and atmosphere of a great music festival without the effort that attending a sleeping festival can entail! As evening performances only we're focused on great quality music. We've brought in Bradfield Brewery for their specialist real ales and will be choosing only local food traders to really show visitors what the city has to offer and to be a celebration of our community and local businesses. Tickets for both concerts are now on sale from www.underthebigtop.co.uk, or by calling the box office on 0114 234 9979. Tickets are also available in person from Rare & Racy, Devonshire Street, Sheffield and also from Bradfield Brewery, Watt House Farm, High Bradfield, Sheffield, Yorkshire S6 6LG.
