Unlocking the potential of your workforce with Sheffield Mind Training

4th July 2018

Sheffield Mind is an independent local charity providing help, support and advice to people in the city who have mental health issues.

In response to growing concerns about mental health in the workplace and requests for advice and support from local employers, the charity recently launched its Training Solutions training programme which provides a variety of high quality training sessions and workshops to suit your organisational and people management needs. We are experts in the field of mental health and emotional wellbeing with over 40 years' experience in the field. In that time we have worked with organisations from a range of sectors to help them improve their approach to mental health in the workplace. In the past year we have worked with schools and universities to improve mental health awareness amongst staff and parents, with representatives of the leisure and customer service industries to improve communication and the ability to manage challenging client behavior and provided bespoke intervention to help employers identify mental health issues and develop policies and procedures to provide appropriate support. Whether you're a line manager looking to support the mental health of your staff or ext a senior leader interested in improving the workplace wellbeing of your organisation Sheffield Mind can help. Why invest in mental wellbeing At any one time, one in five working people will have a mental health difficulty. Many will never get any help. Suicide is the leading cause of death among young people aged 20-34 in the UK. Mental health conditions in the UK workforce cost employers almost £35billion last year; around £1300 for every employee in the UK economy. Many of these costs can be reduced, simply by better awareness, better management and more accommodating, mentally healthy workplaces Corporate social responsibility All Sheffield Mind support services are delivered free of charge and the income raised from its training programme will be invested into local service development and delivery. Companies choosing to purchase Sheffield Mind training will not only improve the wellbeing and productivity of its staff but by doing so, will help us maintain our commitment to free service delivery, ensuring that mental health care is accessible to all and that the local community benefits. We can deliver our training in-house or at our own facility, which is located near central Sheffield. Sessions can be tailored to suit the sector in which you are working and a bespoke element can be added to ensure that scenarios and case studies are relevant to your business and the issues you have or are likely to encounter.
