Utilita Plug into Sheffield United

26th July 2017

UTILITA ENERGY - Britain's fastest growing independent energy supplier - is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with Sheffield United for the 2017/18 season.

Utilita will be the club's Official Energy Partner, with its logo on all first team shorts and polo wear, as well as significant branding within Bramall Lane. Utilita already has major connections within the Steel City, after it acquired call centre specialist bvocal, based in Eccleshall Road, in March. The partnership has already created 200 new jobs in the city this year, with the promise of more to come. The supplier celebrated its 500,000th customer in April up from 200,000 as recently as July 2015 - and this month reached a million supply points across the UK. It has also seen turnover jump more than 50 per cent to £411m while staff numbers have more than trebled in a year from around 400 to nearly 1,500. Jem Maidment, Head of Marketing & Communications at Utilita, said: -This is a brilliant time to be partnering with Sheffield United. The club is on the up after finally getting promoted and the feel-good factor here is infectious. -United is a huge club with a huge support and we want to tap into that to showcase both our domestic and commercial energy products. In addition, we are right in the heart of Sheffield, creating new jobs in the city and we want United to help us continue to grow. Paul Reeves, Head of Commercial at Sheffield United, added: -Utilita's story is a fantastic one. It has grown very quickly and is now an established UK Top 10 energy supplier. We are excited to have the company on board and will work with Utilita to raise its brand awareness and attract new customers. Blades fans who switch to UTILITA will receive an exclusive, limited edition Blades in-home display cover AND £25 voucher to spend in the club shop as well as a free smart meter, excellent customer service and all the other benefits including exclusive access to festival and music tickets through its partnership with the world's leading entertainment promoter, Live Nation. The UTILITA branded shorts will make their first display this evening when the Blades take on Rotherham United at the New York Stadium.
