Vinci funds new Bluebell Wood wheels

12th April 2018

Children and staff at Bluebell Wood are wheel-y happy with their newest present.

Thanks to a grant from Vinci UK Foundation, the children's hospice has become the proud owner of a new mobility vehicle. The arrival of the specially adapted car means that more children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions will now be able to enjoy trips to and from the hospice. The North Anston based charity bought the vehicle after being nominated for the £15,495 grant by Eurovia Contracting North. Vinci UK Foundation makes a range of financial awards to smaller, independent, non-profit charities and organisations each year. Cheryl Freeman, Finance and Admin Manager, Eurovia Contracting North, said: -It has been a great honour for Eurovia Contracting North and Vinci UK Foundation to donate the grant of £15,495 to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. I hope that the new mobility vehicle can provide families with the support they need to be able to use the facilities at the hospice. Julie Booth, Trust and Legacy Fundraiser, Bluebell Wood said: -While we provide a lot of support to children and young adults in their own homes, there are some families that would like to come to the hospice more often but are unable to get here. Staff will now be able to use our new car to go and pick them up. We will also be able to use it to take more of our children on day trips, which is really exciting. -We're incredibly grateful to Eurovia Contracting North and Vinci UK Foundation. This really will make a big difference to families facing the toughest of times in all the areas Bluebell Wood supports, including South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire.
