Wake Smith appoints new head of employment and HR services

22nd March 2022

Sheffield's Wake Smith Solicitors has appointed a new director and head of employment and HR services.

Stacey Cox has more than 17 year's experience advising employers and employees dealing with all areas of employment law handling both contentious and non-contentious work with a particular flare for TUPE and corporate support work.

She is an experienced tribunal advocate, has high court litigation experience arising from employment disputes and advises on corporate transactions, restructuring and strategic HR issues for clients across the public and private sectors.

Stacey said:

"I am excited to be working at such a friendly and highly thought of law firm. Employment law is a fast moving area which can cause difficulties for employers to keep abreast of all of the developments and I cannot wait to start supporting our clients on their employment law and HR needs."

Liz Shaw, head of litigation and management board member at Wake Smith Solicitors, said:

“Stacey is a superb addition to lead our employment team. We are thrilled to have her join as a director.

“She is highly respected in her field and brings sector knowledge in various new areas which will be important in growing Wake Smith’s legal business portfolio.”

Stacey graduated from the University of Lincoln and worked in employment law consultancy before joining a law firm in 2008 and qualifying as a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2011. She became a partner and head of department in 2016, then set up her own business in July 2019. She worked as a partner in a Derby based large employment law team before joining Wake Smith.

Wake Smith provides commercially-minded employment advice across a range of industry sectors with a particular emphasis on engineering, manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, education and retail.
