Walk for Wards is a sponsored walk taking place across the UK to raise vital funds to support the amazing doctors and nurses of the NHS to provide excellent care and treatment for patients. By joining Walk for Wards you and your company can raise funds for any hospital, ward or department that means something to you or your employees.Your local Walk for Wards here in Sheffield is either a buggy-friendly walk (around 5k) or a more challenging route (around 10k), taking in the beautiful countryside of the Longshaw Estate in the Peak District National Park, sampling the picturesque surroundings we are so lucky to have right on our doorsteps.Walk for Wards takes place on Sunday 3rd July 2016 and you can sign in and start walking any time between 9.30am and 10am. All money raised in Sheffield will be used to improve care and treatment for local communities, which could help your employees, customers and their families and friends. Walk for Wards is a fantastic day out for all the family and gives you the chance to join like-minded people in our community who really care about their local NHS hospitals.   For more information about Walk for Wards please visit www.sheffieldhospitalscharity.org.uk/walkforwards Alternatively, you may wish to speak to the Fundraising Team at charity@shct.nhs.uk or on 0114 271 1351. If you are unable to join the event in July, but would still like to be part of Walk for Wards, we'd be delighted to support you to run a company sponsored walk. Please contact the charity for more information about organising this.
