Web development company creates legacy with new site

10th November 2015

An online hub for people across the region to access information about improving their health and wellbeing through sport and physical activity has been designed by a Sheffield web developer.

Impelling Solutions Ltd has created a bespoke website for the Olympic Legacy Park (OLP) which is set to become an internationally recognised innovation district for sport, health and wellbeing, research and learning in Sheffield. The website, developed in partnership with top PR agency HR Media, has been created as an online tool to allow local residents to find out about how they can benefit from the sport, leisure and recreation facilities available at the park, which is in the East End of Sheffield. Chris Foulstone, managing director at Impelling, said: -The OLP team came to us with a brief to create a central point to showcase the plans for the Park and the facilities which will be on offer, as well as creating an online buzz around the development. -It had to be a platform that would help to build and secure support from the general public, the business community and other key stakeholders and to communicate the OLP's business objectives. -At Impelling we are experts at interpreting a brief and transforming those ideas into a fully functional, simple to use website. We worked closely with the OLP team throughout the process to ensure we were creating a site that meets the exacting requirements, and we have achieved just that. The website also provides information for businesses of all sizes looking to invest and locate their business at a world-class centre of excellence, alongside world-leading organisations including Toshiba. The Olympic Legacy Park is a joint venture between Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield City Council. Around 1,500 people will work, learn and improve their fitness at the multi-million pound 26 acre site in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, with world-class sports, education, health and leisure facilities. At its heart is an Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) which will design, research, evaluate and implement new health and wellbeing solutions.
