The University of Sheffield would like to invite employers across South Yorkshire to attend our 'Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) Award Ceremony & Information Day', on Thursday 31st May 2012 11:15am-2pm at the Student Union in Gallery Room 4, Students Union, Western Bank.

The drop-in /information session will take place between 11:15 am-12:45pm. This is a great networking opportunity to meet with other local businesses, students and the University of Sheffield Careers Service team to discuss how you can grow and develop your business by employing our motivated talented students or graduates. If you are thinking of recruiting for a part-time/ temporary job, seasonal work, internship, placement or graduate vacancy or need extra support to complete a project over the summer we can help you fill your vacancies fast and free of charge! The Awards Ceremony will talk place between 1pm-2pm. Offer your support to students as they receive recognition for their outstanding contributions and achievements they've gained through combining their part-time job with their studies. The National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES) have been organising the SEOTY Awards since 2002, making this year the 10th anniversary of supporting student's achievements and demonstrating how students can really add value to local businesses. Steve Fish, Director of the Careers Service said: -The Careers Service works with all employers from small local businesses, to large national and international organisations, to place students into part-time jobs, work experience opportunities and graduate vacancies. With the current competitive labour market employers are looking for candidates with the knowledge, transferable skills and relevant employment experience. Work experience provides our students with the employability skills they need to go out and obtain a graduate job. The SEOTY awards are a great way to rewards students and employers for their hard work and to inspire individuals to continue to develop their employment portfolios. A total of 56 universities and colleges across the UK received nominations with the University of Sheffield and Staffordshire University jointly receiving the highest number of nominations. The categories for awards include rewarding both students working on and off campus and student friendly employers.
