Yorkshire-Based Fletchers Waste Management  Expands With Acquisition of Retford Company And  Plans To Invest Big

10th November 2020

Fletchers Waste Management has completed the acquisition of the Retford based skip hire  company Retford Waste Ltd.

Fletchers Waste Management? has operated from its Sheffield base since 1982 and will add the  Retford Waste facilities to it’s growing portfolio of businesses in the Waste Management  Industry. In particular, this deal extends Fletchers Waste Management’s Yorkshire operations  further increasing their ability to serve customers across South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

With this acquisition, Fletchers Waste Management aims to grow Retford Waste into a  complete waste management company, not only offering skip hire to domestic and commercial  customers but full-scale commercial waste management for businesses operating in the area.  This expansion of services will lead to greater investment into the facilities at Retford Waste  Ltd and lead to the creation of new jobs.

Gavin Leverett, Managing Director of Fletchers Waste Management stated “We are excited to  announce this acquisition of a respected local skip hire business in Retford. Our waste  management businesses operate all over the UK but Yorkshire is our home and base and this  opportunity to enhance our reach across South Yorkshire is particularly exciting. We have big  plans for the Retford Waste business including over £1 million of investment, and hope to be  investing in the business and the local community for many years to come”.

The acquisition marks another step forward for the Yorkshire-based firm after launching  multiple new ventures in 2020, launching The Soil Lab and Fast Skips (A nationwide skip hire  and waste collection company), as well as accelerating the growth of Mr Rubble Skip Hire.  Fletchers’s Sheffield plant has received heavy investment in the form of state of the art waste  and recycling machinery and a refreshed fleet, with new Euro 6 Wagons.
