Yorkshire Business Insider - Confidence Survey

13th January 2015

Yorkshire Business Insider has launched its annual Sheffield City Region business confidence survey, examining the appetite for growth among the region's business leaders.

The survey last year revealed a fresh wave of business confidence had washed through the region. Insider polled business leaders in the Sheffield city region to see if they too are optimistic about what lies ahead in 2014. The result was a resounding 'yes' with more than 80 per cent of business leaders saying they were confident about their prospects for 2014. But as we approach a general election, the eurozone still facing problems, dramatic falls in the price of oil and the prospect of interest rates finally being shifted up, Insider is once again looking to poll its readers to understand what the business world is thinking across the region. Editor Adam Lovell said: -We're a critical point in the economic recovery the country has been enjoying. But challenges still remain and the halcyon days of pre-recession trading conditions are still a distant memory for many. -Geopolitical issues of resounding impact remain too. But that said, businesses are trading harder, confidence certainly returned last year and the prospect of continued growth and investment is now more real than ever. -We'd really like to understand from the people in the businesses how they feel and what their plans are.
