Yorkshire Cricket Return to Sheffield

For the first time in nearly 20 years, Yorkshire County Cricket are making a return to Sheffield when they play the first of their three warm up matches for the T20 series at Abbeydale Sport Club.
The Yorkshire Vikings are expected to field a full first team squad against a Yorkshire League representative side on Monday 19th May, with the competition expected to be fierce. -It will be great to see Yorkshire back in Sheffield said event manager Julie Lister. -Michael Vaughan and Joe Root both started their cricket careers at Abbeydale and it we hope it inspires more youngsters to come and play cricket The event will be supporting a local charity called Fable who provide support to Sheffield people and their families with epilepsy and it will also support the Michael Vaughan Cricket Academy who meet at Abbeydale and provide training and development pathways for young players. England international Joe Root is one of the recent graduates of the Academy and may be playing in the match. Doors open at 4 pm, with a Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Club Junior match at 4.30pm before the main event at 5.30pm. The Club is also hosting a VIP early dinner which includes great views of the game and a meet and greet with the players after the game.
