Yorkshire Crisps Win Great Taste Award

The Yorkshire Crisp Company, from Wales Bar near Sheffield, which produces hand-made gourmet crisps with totally natural flavours, is celebrating after winning a prestigious 2022 Great Taste Award.

The Yorkshire Crisp Company has been presented with a coveted one-star Gold Great Taste Award for its Italian Summer Truffle gourmet crisps.

The Yorkshire Crisp Company partnered with Sacchi Tartufi in Italy and co-developed a bespoke truffle seasoning lovingly made from Italian summer truffle. The search for excellence begins with the scrupulous selection of truffles originating from a territory with an ideal microclimate. Acqualagna, in Gola del Furlo, between Urbino and Pesara is one of the few areas in Italy where this precious fruit can be collected all year long.

The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. With more than 500 experts giving their honest knowledgeable feedback on food and drink products.

The flavour was put under some rigourous tasting with the following feedback given:

‘We were immediately seduced by the truffle aroma of these crisps. On the palate, we could distinctly discern the truffle seasoning and felt that it elevates these crisps significantly. Evenly sized, thinly sliced crisps with a good crunch. Distinctively truffle on the nose which carries through subtly on the palate but in good balance with the flavour of the potato. Not oily in texture or flavour. A moreish, great quality crisp.’
