Yorkshire Wildlife Park - Behind the Scenes talk and tour

26th July 2017

Running one of the country's leading wildlife parks and dealing with the many daily challenges this entails will form the focus of an enlightening talk by Cheryl Williams who will explain how the award winning visitor attraction, which was established just eight years ago, has grown to attract over 750,000 visitors annually and the exciting plans to increase the size of the park, which have just been published, which could double the staff to 600.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is one of this region's huge success stories and this is a great opportunity for directors to gain an insight into the park and how Cheryl and the team have achieved this. It is also a chance to go behind the scenes and get up close with some of the animals. The behind-the-scenes tour will include learning more about the animals with a Park Ranger, and a chance to get up close to the famous Lions, hopefully at feeding time! The Wildlife Park is renowned both locally and internationally for its great work in providing sanctuary for many animals which would otherwise not have enjoyed such a great quality of life. Two of the tiger cubs born last year have already moved into international conservation programmes. Delegates attending this event will be able to access the Park prior to the event for some time to explore a good chance to visit some of the newest arrivals; Hodari and Dayo, critically endangered Eastern Black Rhinos who arrived in Yorkshire in October last year. BOOK YOUR TICKETS The event is open to IoD members and non-members and is free, although a £10 per person donation to Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation to assist in their conservation and education programmes would be appreciated. To book direct with IoD regional office T: 0113 243 0152 or email: iod.yorkshire@iod.com
