Yorkshire Wildlife Park wins top tourist award

20th February 2018

Award-winning Yorkshire Wildlife Park has been awarded a prestigious tourism accreditation - receiving a Visit England Welcome Accolade.

The award places YWP as one of country's top tourist attractions and was made after a full inspection last October by an undercover inspector. Visit England awards the Accolade to the best attractions who have been scored the highest for "going the extra mile to create an enjoyable and memorable" visitor experience. YWP's John Minion said: -This is a fantastic achievement for us and we are very honoured. "We take great pride in being a local and national success, offering a fun and educational day out for families all year round. It is wonderful to be recognised in this way. "We would like to thank everyone for helping make us such a success." YWP has won an unrivalled reputation for giving visitors a mesmerising walkthrough experience coming almost face to face with some of the world's most beautiful and rare animals. Simon Numphud, Managing Director of Visit England, added: -This accolade is testament to the high standards achieved, which the assessor felt were truly deserving of recognition. Since opening in 2009, the innovative park in Branton has won a series of awards including -Yorkshire's Most Magnificent Attraction, Visit England Gold Award and is the UK's fastest growing and most innovative wildlife attraction. YWP puts conservation at the heart of all its activities and the Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation is at the forefront of international conservation campaigns to save species, including Polar Bears, Painted Dogs, Amur Tigers and Rhinos. Over 750,000 visitors a-year enjoy a fun filled an educational day out at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
