What is an Investment Zone?
- Investment Zones were first announced in September 2022, however, the blueprints for these zones have changed since then. Investment Zones are intended to form ‘knowledge-intensive growth clusters’ to encourage partner cooperation with local research institutions such as universities.
- Each Investment Zone will be provided with £80m worth of support over a five-year period which can be used flexibly between spending and tax incentives.
