Domestic Abuse and Employees Policy
Since COVID, with more staff working at home, it’s more important than ever to think about how to support employees that are experiencing domestic abuse at home. Domestic Abuse also costs employers millions every year in absences and reduced productivity.
Sheffield City Council’s Domestic Abuse and Employees Policy was updated in September 2020 – it outlines for managers how to identify DA, the impact it has on staff and how to respond as an employer. Please see below to download.
A guide with an overview of Sheffield services for people experiencing domestic abuse can also be found below to download.
A resource that is really useful for employers is the Employers Initiative Against Domestic Abuse https://www.eida.org.uk/ who have joined forces with Business in the Community and Public Health England to produce a toolkit for employers https://www.eida.org.uk/resources/employer-toolkit.
