Support to drive innovation, productivity and growth for your business
The University of Sheffield is helping to make South Yorkshire an even better place.
Working with partners, we’ve launched the Made Together programme, a landmark collaboration with four ambitions: to make our region healthier, more vibrant, more sustainable and more innovative.
It’s inspired by simple ideas – the belief that a thriving South Yorkshire is good for us all and a recognition that, for all the hundreds of projects that we deliver, we could be making an even bigger difference to the people and places where we work.
Made Together is about co-production, working with partners, regional and local government, businesses, communities and others, to exploit the untapped regeneration potential of these projects for the benefit of the region.
Businesses can work with us to drive innovation, productivity and growth through research, access to translational facilities and investing in our talent.
We don’t have an extensive list of all of the areas of support that we offer, as it’s so vast. We’d like to hear what your business needs are and we can find ways to make connections across the university!
Some examples of the support and mechanisms to engage with the University are:
Innovation Network South Yorkshire
The Innovation Network South Yorkshire is a partnership between the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University to support regional growth.
We welcome South Yorkshire’s academics, organisations and businesses to join our free events and activities to network with regional thought leaders and build links with both Sheffield Universities to innovate and drive future collaborations.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)
KTPs support businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity, providing access to the University’s knowledge, technology and skills through a three-way partnership between the business, the University and a recent graduate, known as a KTP Associate.
The Associate is part-funded by Innovate UK to work for up to three years on a strategic innovation challenge, supervised by an experienced member of our academic staff, to bring the latest skills and academic thinking into your organisation.
Accessing our Talent
Our students and graduates possess a wealth of up-to-date knowledge and transferable skills that can drive innovation and growth.
Each year there are a range of events to help businesses raise their profile amongst students, spot talent and work collaboratively with target departments and faculties.
There is also an enhanced offer available exclusively to local SMEs, including recruitment support and guidance, free events and funded internships.
